Co-Working Sessions
For existing clients only!
I am hoping to run co-working sessions based on the principles of body-doubling and the ADHD-friendly Pomodoro method
What is Body-Doubling?
ADHD body doubling is a practice where a person with ADHD works on and completes potentially frustrating tasks with another person.
This other person is the “body double” for the person with ADHD. The body double’s job is to help anchor the person with ADHD to the present moment and task, reducing the risk of distraction.
What is the Pomodoro Method?
Loosely, the Pomodoro method is a way of “focused-working” based on short but intensive intervals ranging from 15 to 25 minutes with short breaks in between
Popularized in the tech world, the Pomodoro method can be quite effective for ADHD brains to do focused work while honouring our shorter-than-ideal attention spans
Please note that these sessions are inspired by the Pomodoro method and will offer 2 x 25 minute focused intervals to complete focused work (50 minutes total)
What These Sessions Would Offer:
Krista as Facilitator :)
Defined time to work on low-dopamine but important tasks (paying bills, organizing life stuff, filing documents, crafting....as long as it's important to you!)
Accountability in the form of a check-in + check-out process with the group each session
Sense of community from other ADHDers (you’re not alone!)
Approximately 50 minutes of focused work time with a short bio break between intervals; 75 minutes for the session overall including check-in/check-out
A maximum of 4-6 people per session
What These Sessions Would NOT Offer:
Emotional processing space (that's what 1:1 sessions are for!)
Group therapy / Individual therapy
Formal psychoeducation on ADHD
Practical Stuff
Booking and sessions would be run through our online booking system via Jane
4-week commitment respectfully requested to ensure we have numbers throughout
Sessions would be at the same time each week, likely evenings
$50/session ($200 for the 4-week run)
Sessions would be provided by an RSW and an invoice issued for reimbursement from your insurance coverage if applicable / available
